He is full of athletic talent, has tons of heart, and all the grit any level of non pro rider would need. Leroy was started by Tyler Darroch as a working cow horse, and was switched over to reining as a 4 year old. He's been very successful in both disciplines: NRCHA Earnings - over $3,000 earnings from 2009 including 1st in Alberta Cowhorse Ltd Open Futurity, 2nd in SRCHA Open Futurity Canadian Supreme Earnings (Reining)- $3318 - 1st in Nominated Derby class - 2010 NRHA Earnings - over $1500 with many accomplishments for his youth/rookie rider. Qualifier for 5 classes for the 2012 NAAC finals Leroy's true calling is as a cow horse, which is no surprise considering his excellent breeding. His cow instinct is phenomenol, and he's full of 100% try. He has very good ground manners, is completely sound, and all shots are up to date. To top it off, he is completely broke, with 3 years of professional reining training and regular riding and showing. Leroy hasn't been shown on cows for the last 3 years, but you can see from the video (Reining / Cow Work), he hasn't lost his touch (even when he's being ridden by youth/novice riders on well-used penning cows). He needs a job to be happy, so we're looking for the right person that will give him a challenge AND a good home.
